Went to Barnes and Noble bookstore yesterday and scanned two books on wine. One was a decent book on wine called "KISS: wine" or something like that, which went down the standard path of education a person on wine. Lots of wine tidbits with nice color pictures to go along.
Then I saw Andrea Immer Robinson's book and it was a whole different story. She's a master sommelier (one of 14 women apparently on the whole darn planet) and she had a very refreshing take on wine. A let's cut the crap and start tasting attitude. I didn't have a discount with me, so I didn't buy either. But I'll probably go to Borders and pick this up today.
I'm mentioning all this as I'm somewhat interested in wine and should share my thoughts one of these days if I can get off my lazy ass.
Also drove to Monterey for dinner to join some people who were there for the Jazz Festival there. More like a Jazz symposium, as it all took place in a hotel on Fisherman's Wharf. I was struck by how old most of the performers were. Someone said attendance was waning, which was no surprise.
Oh, so this retard application wants me to type a paragraph without hitting newline, so it can do the formatting as it chooses. This is all quite retardo to me.
